COVID-19 rapid tests in South Tyrol

From Friday 20 to Sunday 22 November 2020 everyone in South Tyrol will be able to take part to this initiative and get tested for COVID-19. Also non-residents can take part.

The incidence of infection in South Tyrol has reached such proportions that important joint action is required. For this reason, from Friday 20 to Sunday 22 November 2020, approximately 350,000 rapid antigen tests for the detection of the Coronavirus will be carried out throughout South Tyrol. Screening on a provincial scale can help to identify as yet unknown sources of infection and stop a further increase in the spread of the virus.

We would therefore like to invite you all to take part in this screening to help and tackle the pandemic.

You can find all information about the initiative in the attached PDF and www.provincia.bz.it/coronatest.

In order to make everything faster and avoid gatherings of people waiting for the swab, please show up with:

  • this form filled in (please fill in both the email address and the mobile number as they are both needed to communicate the result),
  • this privacy declaration,
  • your ID,
  • your health card (EHIC) only if you have one.

In case you can’t print out the form before going to take the swab, you will be able to fill one out there.

Please note that different municipalities have organised the swabs differently and have therefore different systems to register and choose the place where you want to get the swab. Here is a summary of the information available now for the three municipalities of our campuses:

Bozen-Bolzano

No registration is required. All streets will be assigned a timeslot to go to a specific swab point. Please check it on the website linked above. This information will probably be published tomorrow (19/11/2020).

In case you can’t go during the assigned timeslot you can also show up at another time but still at the assigned place.

Brixen-Bressanone

If you are living in Brixen-Bressanone you can book the swab appointment online or via phone.

Bruneck-Brunico

As of tomorrow (19/11/2020) you will be able to book an appointment online on the municipality’s website or via phone.

You will receive the result of the swab via email in up to 60 minutes. You will receive the password to open the result of the test via mobile phone. Please write both in the form.

  • In case the test is positive, you will need to self-quarantine for 10 days and follow the rules. In case you do not develop any COVID-19 symptoms, you will be able to leave the self-quarantine after 10 days. In case you develop symptoms you need to get in touch with your local doctor or the province health unit.
  • In case the test is negative, please continue to practice social distancing and follow the rules in place.

Please also note that all the rules that are in place at the moment will remain valid at least until 29 November 2020.
