Diploma

Degree certificate

The Student secretariat can issue certificates only in the cases contemplated by the law (see “Issue of certificates”). The Student secretariat will dispatch the Diploma Supplement to graduates of bachelor and master programmes. In order to guarantee  an efficient delivery, please check the correctness of your mail address indicated in the Cockpit, and modify it if necessary.

Diploma

Your diploma will be handed out during the official end-of-year degree ceremony. If you are unable to participate, you can collect your diploma from the Student secretariat after the ceremony date.
For training courses and additional qualifications for support teachers, no diploma is provided.

Some foreign universities, mainly in Austria, require the original degree diploma for the enrolment. In this case, graduates can exceptionally apply for the advanced issue of the diploma at the Student secretariat using this form. It will therefore not be possible to collect the diploma during the official degree ceremony.

Diploma Supplement

The Diploma Supplement is an addition to the leaving certificate. It was developed by the European Commission, Council of Europe and by Unesco-Cepes. The purpose of the supplement is to provide sufficient independent data to improve the international transparency and fair academic and professional recognition of qualifications. It provides a description of the nature, level, context, content and status of the studies that were pursued and successfully completed by the student. It is free from any value-judgements, equivalence statements or suggestions about recognition.

Issue

The Diploma Supplement is issued automatically and free of charge to all graduates of Bachelor and Master programmes.

unibz issues the Diploma Supplement in Italian, German, English and after study conclusion dispatches it by post. Here you can find an example.

For students, the Diploma Supplement offers:

  • a diploma that is more readable and easily comparable abroad;
  • a precise description of their academic career and the competencies acquired during the study period;
  • an objective description of their achievements and competencies;
  • easier access to work opportunities or further studies abroad.
