Teaching activities

Various types of teaching activities are foreseen, which in different ways impart practical and theoretical knowledge in the fields of computer science:

  • Lecture: regular meeting with students during which the lecturer explains the theoretical part of the programme.
  • Exercise: regular meeting with the students accompanying the lecture; during the exercise, the program is reworked, and/or the student, under the supervision of the lecturer, autonomously applies the theoretical knowledge acquired during the lecture.
  • Lab: regular meeting with the students accompanying the lecture; during the lab the student, under the supervision of the professor, develops a software product autonomously, immediately applying the theoretical knowledge acquired during the lecture.
  • Seminar: presentation in the form of a seminar during which advanced topics are discussed and understanding, communication and teamwork skills are developed. The presentation is carried out by experts in the field and/or students who participate in the seminar, and who deepen a specific topic at the suggestion of the lecturer.
  • Maker Lab: activity during which the student is involved in the planning, design and production of objects/artifacts whose functions are implemented with the aid of various low-level information and communication technologies (microprocessors, sensors, etc.).
  • Capstone Project: activity during which the student works independently on an individual or group project with real data from an application domain, under the supervision of a lecturer and a domain expert; in particular, the techniques studied are applied and developed, and planning, communication, user interaction and teamwork skills are acquired.
  • Internship: external activity carried out at private or public facilities, with the purpose of providing a period of alternation between study and work and facilitating professional choices through direct knowledge of the professional environment. The internship is regulated by the "General Internship Regulation" of unibz.
  • Project: activity during which the student independently develops theoretical or applied scientific research under the supervision of a lecturer and in the context of the research activities of the faculties to which the study course belongs.
    The maximum scope of the teaching is as follows:

1 credit always corresponds to a total study commitment of 25 hours (frontal teaching and individual study).

The distribution of hours between lecture and exercise is defined in each Course Presentation Form and approved by the Degree Council.
