For a few weeks now, you can find small gray boxes along the bicycle paths in Bruneck-Brunico and its surroundings. These bicycle counting devices belong to the Competence Centre, that counts passing cyclists in cooperation with the municipality of Bruneck-Brunico. With the collected data, the intensity of use of cyclist paths in Bruneck-Brunico can be studied in order to better design the bicycle path networks in the future and adapt them to the needs of cyclists. The mobile counters will be placed at different locations and for a few weeks they will diligently count the cyclists who pass them and even record their speed. In this way, the bike lanes can be made safer for road users on 2 wheels.
