Supervisors and Thesis projects

Supervisors and Thesis projects:

Supervisor and co-supervisor of the thesis

The supervisor is responsible for providing fundamental support and guidance to the student throughout the thesis project and for the overall quality of the thesis.
The supervisor must be a full or associate professor or a researcher from either the Faculty of Engineering or the Faculty of Economics and Management.

The supervisor may be joined by a co-supervisor who collaborates in supporting and guiding the student in the research activities and in the writing of the thesis. The co-supervisor can be a full or associate professor, researcher or PhD student from either the Faculty of Engineering or the Faculty of Economics, or external lecturer teaching in the study programme. The co-supervisor can also be a researcher belonging to national or international universities or research centres, or a reference person belonging to a companies or public or private institution and actively involved in the thesis project.

How to find a thesis project

Any professor or researcher belonging to the two faculties (Engineering and Economics and Management) can offer to supervise a student's thesis project. In addition, professors and researchers may have ongoing research projects in which students may be involved.

To find out about these thesis projects and the research interests of our professors and researchers, please refer to this dedicated Team.
For further information or academic guidance, you can also contact the Thesis Coordinator, Prof. Markus Zanker (markus.zanker@unibz.it).

Requests to change the thesis topic must be approved by the supervisor. A change of supervisor or co-supervisor is only possible in exceptional and justified cases and must be approved by the Degree Council.
