Supervisor and co-supervisor of the thesis

The supervisor is responsible for providing fundamental support and guidance to the student throughout the thesis project and for the overall quality of the thesis.
The supervisor must be a full or associate professor or a researcher from either the Faculty of Engineering, or an external lecturer teaching in the study programme.

The supervisor may be joined by a co-supervisor who collaborates in supporting and guiding the student in the research activities and in the writing of the thesis. The co-supervisor can be a full or associate professorresearcher or PhD student from the Faculty of Engineering, or an external lecturer teaching in the study programme. The co-supervisor can also be a researcher belonging to national or international universities or research centres, or a reference person belonging to a companies or public or private institution and actively involved in the thesis project.

Macro Area Supervised Thesis Topics at the Faculty

Every macro area within our Faculty presents unique thesis topics. Opting for a project from these macro areas means engaging closely with the respective centre throughout your thesis research.

For details explore the pages dedicated to each macro area here.

Thesis Topics supervised by an external lecturer

You can also choose an external lecturer holding a course at the Faculty in the current Academic Year as your thesis supervisor.

To get information on the thesis topics offered by these lecturers, please contact them via e-mail (you can find all external lecturers on the course page and on the staff page of the Faculty).

Requests to change the thesis topic must be approved by the supervisor. A change of supervisor or co-supervisor is only possible in exceptional and justified cases and must be approved by the Degree Council.
