Language:
The final thesis may be written in Italian, English or German.
The thesis will be presented and discussed in English. Each Bachelor candidate has about 10 minutes to present their work before the discussion.
Formatting:
- Character type: Tahoma
- Font size: 12
- Line spacing: Single
- Alignment: Justified
- Number of pages: About 50 pages
The final thesis (A4 format) must be saved as PDF/A and uploaded to the MySNS platform.
Content and structure of the thesis:
- Front page: The front page must contain the name of the faculty, the degree course, the academic year, the title of the thesis, the name of the student, the name of the supervisor and, if applicable, the co-supervisor. You can download here the front page:
- Table of contents
- Foreword and/or Introduction
- Aim of the thesis
- Main body of the thesis (e.g., for an experimental thesis: Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion of Results)
- Conclusions
- References
- Appendix (optional)
- Summary: 3–4 pages, max. 5 pages; in all three languages—Italian, German and English.
Tables, figures/graphs and photos may be inserted directly in the text or grouped at the end.
Sources must be indicated in the text, in tables and figures, and then listed in the reference section (see below).
Tables and figures
All tables and figures must be numbered, placed close to the text to which they refer and accompanied by a brief description.
Rules for citations and numerical references
The following rule for citing bibliographical references should be followed in the text:
- one author – (Doniger, 1999)
- two authors – (Cowlishaw and Dunbar, 2000)
- three or more authors – (Doniger et al., 1999)

In the Bibliography chapter (at the end of the thesis) give the bibliographic references as follows:
