C.N.S.U. Elections

The election of the C.N.S.U. (Consiglio nazionale degli studenti universitari) is held every three years.

Competences

The C.N.S.U. is an advisory body which represents the students, conversing on a constant basis with the Ministry for Universities and Research.

It provides opinions and proposals regarding:

  • university system reorganization projects arranged by the Ministry;
  • Ministry decrees defining the criteria for the discipline of the courses’ didactic regulations and the resources available for the advisory service and the support to student mobility;
  • criteria for the utilization of the general funding available for universities.

It elects the student representatives for the National University Council (C.U.N.).

It can advise the Ministry on general matters relevant to universities.

It presents to the Ministry, within two years of its installation, a report on the condition of students at Italian universities.

It can petition the Ministry concerning matters of national relevance regarding didactics and students’ conditions. The Ministry has 60 days time to submit an answer.

Composition

The C.N.S.U. is composed of 30 members, 28 of them representing students enrolled in the university courses (diploma, bachelor and master courses), 1 representing PhD students and 1 representing students enrolled in specialization courses. The entire Italian territory is divided up into four electoral districts. Each one hosts the election of 7 representatives. The Council holds its office for 3 years and its members can be re-elected.

Election Days

  • 17.05.2022 - from 9:00 to 18:00
  • 18.05.2022 - from 9:00 to 18:00
  • 19.05.2022 - from 9:00 to 14:00

Student representatives components

The election for the renewal of the National Council of University Students (C.N.S.U.) will take place for the following components:

  • component a) 28 members will be elected by the students enrolled in Bachelor and Master programmes
  • component b) 1 member will be elected by students enrolled in specialisation programmes
  • component c) 1 member will be elected by students enrolled in PhD programmes

Active and passive electors

  • Active electors: Students who are regularly enrolled in the current academic year up to the date of the election, do have the right to vote.
  • Passive voters: Students who have enrolled for the current academic year no later than the 13.04.2022 do have the right to be elected.
  • Students enrolled in training courses, 1st and 2nd level masters and qualifying courses do not have the right to vote

Electors Lists

The lists of the active and passive electors are published also in the university buildings in Bozen-Bolzano, Brixen-Bressanone, Bruneck-Brunico. Any objections may be submitted by the interested parties within 10 days after publication directly to the Rector, who will make the final decision within the following 15 days.

Candidatures (Deadline: 13.04.2022 - 13:00)

Candidatures can be presented:

  • for the component a) to the Local Election Commission in Bologna,
  • for the components b) and c) to the Student Secretariat, which will forward the documentation to the Central Election Commission in Rome.
