Presentation of the Competence Centre for Plant Health at Laimburg Research Centre
On Tuesday 22 June 2021 the Director of the Competence Centre for Plant Health Prof. Tanja Mimmo presented officially its members, boards, goals, and the research areas of the Centre
The meeting was the first occasion to share the mission of the Centre, focused on the deepening of knowledge of the adaptive responses of cultivated plant species to different abiotic and biotic stress factors that can affect plant health. This knowledge is fundamental to the development of innovative approaches/solutions to meet agricultural challenges that are approaching also in South Tyrol (in terms of food security & more sustainable agriculture).
The meeting fired the starting shot for the collaboration between the Competence Centre for Plant Health and the Research Centre Laimburg. Indeed, the Competence Centre aims at bundling and networking multidisciplinary competences to realize professional synergies and to guarantee a substantial contribution to a future sustainable agriculture in South Tyrol.
