Alumni Talks: When (and how) to quit your job with Christoph Erber

Christoph Erber is an alumnus of the Bachelor in Economics and Social Sciences at unibz (2011-2014).

Currently working as the chief of staff to the director at the Berlin-based think tank German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP), Christoph also recently became a Charlemagne Prize Academy Fellow for a research project on European energy security, which he will focus on during the next year.

He completed the Master of Arts in International Relations and International Economics at the School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) at Johns Hopkins University in Bologna and Washington, DC (2015-2017).

For this alumni event, Christoph will share his thoughts and insights on job changes. Whether being laid off or deliberately quitting with or without having a new job lined up, career transitions can be difficult but also exciting times. Relating to his own professional experiences, Christoph will talk about why knowing when and how to quit a job is an essential skill – one that is difficult to obtain through the syllabi of most university degrees.

Programme:

  • Why do you want to work here anyways?
  • When is it time for a job change?
  • How to leave without burning bridges?
Registration deadline: 26/02/2023
