Alumni Talks: Lessons learned from the industry with Mattia Reganaz
Mattia Reganaz is an alumnus of the Bachelor in Industrial and Mechanical Engineering at unibz graduated in 2015.
After his Bachelor, he started his Master studies in aerospace engineering at the Technical University of Munich (Germany). Even before he finished his Master's degree he started to work as a working student at OHB System AG, a German satellite manufacturer. Beside different smaller projects he successfully developed a lunar ice drill as part of a lunar poles exploration program. After graduation, he stayed within OHB as a subsystem mechanical development engineer. In this role he was able to collect experience in instrument design for satellites and rovers.
In 2021 his focus area changed to space operations and his professional journey continued in DLR-GfR, a subsidiary company of the German Aerospace Agency which is contracted to control and maintain the European GALILEO GNSS constellation ("european GPS satellites"). At the moment he is certified to cover a double role as a ground and a mission operations engineer within the Galileo Project.
In this talk Mattia will share his lessons learned while making career in an industry which covers a very small and specific niche in the market: the space industry.
